ACLED Infographic - IS in the Sahel Region

Date: November 2023

Duration: 1 week

Role: Graphic Designer

This design assignment was developed to elevate ACLED’s visual presence across digital platforms, including social media and web graphics. Based on a mock brief from the marketing team, the task involved creating three key components: an infographic, a cover for the annual report, and a square template for social media posts.

Working within ACLED’s newly established Brand Guidelines, I adhered to the defined color palette and typography system—primarily using Lato, with Cardo as an optional accent font. While the parameters were clear, the creative process was anything but linear.

Over the course of the project, I produced numerous iterations of each design element, experimenting with layout, hierarchy, and visual rhythm. Through trial and error, I refined my approach—testing different compositions, adjusting typographic scales, and exploring how color could guide attention and convey tone. Each round of revision brought new insights into how to balance clarity with brand personality.

This project not only strengthened my understanding of brand systems and responsive design, but also underscored the value of persistence and adaptability in the creative process. The final outcomes reflect a thoughtful evolution from initial concept to polished execution.
